Delia Cannings – Managing Director


A consummate professional driven by a passion for the Cleaning Industry. Leading the Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals for many years from an educational perspective Delia remains focussed on raising the educational profile of the Cleaning Industry and beyond. Engaged with many industry projects and sitting on industry committees’ enables great access to cutting edge initiatives and sharing of best practice.
The development of cutting edge learning packages from entry to degree level has solidified the position of Environmental Excellence Training & Development as the number one training provider for education and training across throughout the UK and beyond. Delia continues to satisfy the educational appetites of the Cleaning Industry, the NHS, Local Authorities and the Hospitality sector.
Delia continues to thrive personally and professionally infused by her passion for the Industry. The unique audience style that is Delia’s brand, has led to much demand enabling her company Environmental Excellence Training & Development to thrive. Delia’s challenges have included several television appearances, media engagement, and appointment as the Chair of the United Housekeepers Association for Midlands Wales and the South West region, as well as being appointed as an external examiner for the University of Northampton and delivery associate for APSE

Kelly Louise Smith


Kelly Louise Smith is Senior Business Support Advisor for Environmental Excellence Training & Development Limited.
This role embraces marketing, procurement and learner engagement with a specific focus on developing robust industry links within healthcare environments, contract cleaning companies, universities and the hospitality industry.
An integral part of Kelly’s role is to assist in the development of educational packages designed to maximise training opportunities.
Kelly can offer advice on how training can benefit you, your staff and your business.

Pat O’Mara


Pat O’Mara has been involved in the cleaning industry for many years working her way through the ranks from operator to increasingly more senior roles. Pat has developed an enviable reputation for success leading on prestigious projects locally, nationally and internationally.
A commercially and operationally experienced individual within cleaning operations and HR.
Specialising in learning and development Pat is both determined and decisive using experience and initiative to develop opportunities in competitive business environments.
Challenges on the horizon associated with the world of Facilities Management provide the spark to ignite Pat’s enthusiasm which is without doubt phenomenal.
Alongside her colleagues at Environmental Excellence Training & Development she contributed to the submission resulting in the award of ROTO and ROATP status.
To this end, Pat has contextualised Apprentice programmes to ensure the vocational aspects directed at the cleaning industry are smart, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely.

Marie Mathews


Marie Mathews, is Business Development Executive for Environmental Excellence Training & Development Limited. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience developed over 14 years as Head of Curriculum at Sandwell College. Marie worked across several functions including, Change, Strategy and Operations Contract Management, Bids, Traineeships, Kickstart programs, Apprenticeships, and sector-based academies. Entry to degree level programs and involvement with several Government initiatives feature strongly in her portfolio.
Working with strategic stakeholders across the Midlands, Black Country, Birmingham and Solihull DWP, Sandwell Hospital, NHS trusts and many West Midlands employers her sector relationships are strong. Marie has established, developed, and maintained and enviable client base as well as remarkable reputation for successful projects.
Her extensive working experience of Training and Education which includes proficiency in funding opportunities, makes Marie the ideal person to lead Environmental Excellence Training and Development Ltd into the next phase of our strategic development.

Vanessa Morrison


Vanessa Morrison is our Vocational Tutor and Assessor for Environmental Excellence Training & Development Ltd, she brings with her 15 years of professional experience which was developed whilst working within the NHS. Most recently as Cleaning Services Manager where she managed a large workforce and was instrumental in delivering a successful cleaning service through the pandemic and into the recovery period.
Vanessa hold an impressive portfolio of credentials which include specialising in cleaning as a science, decontamination processes, audit and compliance factors. An excellent communicator with a fabulous sense of humour.
Vanessa will be assisting clients from across the cleaning industry to become “Professionally Cleaning Compliant” through education and training. Supporting our NHS colleagues and Health Care Establishments to embed the National Standards in Healthcare Cleanliness. Vanessa will also be involved with delivering curriculum and assessing outcomes on a range of vocational courses.
